Valentine's Day is always loaded with sweet stuff - most of which will either be tossed in the trash not long after, make your love handles a little bigger or rot your teeth. To get started, choose 11 of your favorite photos of the loved one who'll be the lucky recipient of your book. Ideally, the photos will be of them doing something that you love, but it's not completely necessary. They can just be cute photos of them in general. One photo goes on the cover, the rest each go on one side of the two-page spreads throughout the book.
Next, start your project - I chose to start with a blank book, then went with full-bleed photos on one side of each spread with a reason and a few embellishments on the opposite spread. I used the Be My Valentine Digital Kit (US|Canada) to embellish my pages - I just added a paper for the background and used the embellishments and a little text to finish. The font I used is "A Little Pot". Below are a few sample spreads I created:

We've had loads of requests for some simpler, collage-type calendar templates, and they're here! Holy cow - it's November already. Hooray! I love this time of year - Thanksgiving is right around the corner, the weather cools off and wearing thick, ugly fleece socks is the norm for me. I also recently discovered that one of my favorite department stores carries adult sized footy jammies! (Merry Christmas to ME!) ;)

As we all know, calendars make super sweet gift ideas for... well, just about anyone. And this month, they're all 20% off. Talk about perfect timing for early holiday gift planning!
With our calendars, not only are they awesome at the time of gifting, but they keep on giving even after the months pass and you flip the page over. Each page in the calendar has two perforations - one just above the calendar grid, and the other across the top of the page, so you can easily tear off each section (resulting in a full 12" x 12" or 8" x 8" page layout plus a calendar grid) and place it into a photo album (US|Canada) to enjoy over and over.
Creating a calendar does require software (US|Canada), but we've made the creation process super slick and easy with our Calendar Digital Page Layouts available (downloadable on creativememories.com or .ca). The free version (US|Canada) of the templates is completely flattened with photo drop spots and editable calendar grid. The purchaseable version (US|Canada) comes with all elements on the page unlocked, so you can customize to your heart's content.

I wanted to share a couple of pages that I chose as my favorites from the Calendar Digital Page Layouts (you'll notice that I loved these particular pages so much I've shown them three times here, and had them placed in many of our calendar marketing pieces too!). The pre-designed calendar pages are available to use as is, or if you choose the purchased version, they are completely customizable. But when they're this adorable, why change them up, right? :)
Of course, if you love the custom design process and want to build each calendar page from scratch, you can do that too. Or, consider page layouts you may have already created but not yet printed... simply add them to the top section of a calendar page, and when you receive your calendar, you'll end up with a page print to boot.
