Create a fun Desk Calendar (US|Canada) for mom chock full of photos that she'll love to look at every day. They're awesome for a whole bunch of reasons, but my favorite thing about them is that you can start the calendar on any month you choose, giving you the option to give it as a gift or create one for yourself anytime you like.
Another thing that's sweet about these cute little calendars is that once you stylize the first calendar grid with your favorite fonts, etc., you can simply right-click anywhere on the calendar grid and choose "Sample calendar style". Then, when you get to the next calendar page, you can right-click on that grid and choose "Apply calendar style" to make everything match up quickly & easily. It's genius!
To design my calendar pages shown here, I used papers and embellishments from the new Divine Digital Power Palette (US|Canada) and the font on the calendar grids is Pupcat from dafont.com.
The coolest thing you can explain to Mom is how she can tear away the photo piece from the left side of the calendar to place on the fridge or in her favorite album - they're perforated for you. Such a cool project that's got all kinds of bells and whistles, but its still super easy to create.
