Know someone who's expecting? Here's a sweet gift idea to give the expecting parents. It's a baby calendar you can order without photos and dates, so the parents can start filling in the calendar grids and add printed photos as baby grows, regardless of which month the baby is born. And, when you pair it with a 12x12 Photo Album, it will be a gift they'll treasure forever.
Let me show you how it works!
Step 1: Purchase, download and import baby calendar templates here: US|Canada
Step 2: Create a new 12x18 calendar project in StoryBook Creator 4.0, choosing the baby calendar templates.
Step 3: After the predesigned pages have loaded into your software, without adding photos, text or additional embellishments, simply order your calendar as it is.
Note that there are three extra templates that you can choose to change any of the templates to. Also note that the default set of templates provides one layout for each of the child's first twelve months. If you swap out any templates within the flow of the calendar, one of the chronological months may be missing. We recommend ordering the calendar with the default templates.
If you want to use these templates to create a calendar after baby's first year has passed, you can do that too. See the end of this blog post for further info on this.
Step 4: When your calendar arrives, the pages will look something like this:
Step 5: Wrap the calendar up as a gift and deliver it to the expecting parents! A nice addition to this gift is the Expandable 12x12 Picfolio® Album (US|Canada) for the parents to slide the detachable pages into after the months have passed.
Step 6: Starting in baby's first month, the parents can write in the month, dates and any important events right onto the blank calendar and adhere photos in the blank spaces. At the end of the month, a page will look something like this:
Step 7: At the end of each month, printed photos can be adhered right to the page layout and journaling can be added to finish the page. Then, both the calendar grid and the page layout can be torn away at the perforation and included in a photo album, which will look something like this (the calendar grid and extra photos were adhered to a sheet of white cardstock and slid in as the facing page below):
The best part is that you can give this gift any month of the year, regardless of when the baby arrives, because the month names are filled in by the parents!
Enjoy! :)
NOTE: if you wish to edit the calendar digitally before printing, here's a bit of info to help you:
Simply add photos, text and additional embellishments to your calendar project as normal. You will notice that the month and date layers are not showing. To turn them back on, simply right-click on the calendar grid, then choose "Change the month". Next, choose "Title style" and select one of the options in the "Format" dropdown. Using the "Layout" dropdown, you can select where you would like the title placed.
To turn the dates back on, while still in the "Change the month" area, select "Date style". You will notice that in the "Font" area, there is a small clear dropdown box that looks like this:
Click on the down arrow, then on the "Select Color" menu, drag the "Opacity" slider to the right and click "OK":
Click "Okay" on the main calendar edit menu, and both the month and dates should be showing.
no parent can have eognuh diapers and babysitters if you are available print off your computer 5 slips that each say one free evening of babysitting you can make them fancy using borders and fancy fonts on wordalso pick up a gift card to thier favorite shopping spot walmart/grocery store someplace they will be buying diapers, formula baby food (eventually)then place the gift cards babysitting coupons in a fancy card!!!

Are these baby calendar templates only available for SB 4.0? I can't find them. I love this idea & thought it would be a perfect gift for a friend!

This is a fabulous idea - thank you! I am working on it right now and noticed there is a spelling error in the quote on the 12 month old page. Just a heads up!

Jenny, I did a bunch of boy and girl blank albums last year, and one of them id my 1st year now for my grandson. I even printed another calendar and did a 13th page - for a One Year Old - so that will finish off their whole year. I'm on 6 months for the little guy, and it hangs on my wall for me to add photos each month as I print, and to fill in all the events and firsts.
