So... one of my good friends Laurie Callison (who also happens to be an awesome member of the CM Digital Design Team) came up with this fantastic idea for "Click 'n fill" templates - super fun digital page layouts where she does the hard work and "maps out" (think of them as a digital sketch, in a sense) the actual layout, then leaves all the fun colorizing & decorating to you. Many of you have already seen a sample or two of these on the project center as a downloadable freebie template some months back. Well, after some great responses to that we decided to go ahead and incorporate Laurie's templates into our latest Content Collection CD! Woohoo!
These templates are rockin' and anyone can use them. Really. You just... well, "click" and then you "fill" the spots with your favorite papers. We've heard that a few of you are wondering just how to use them, so Laurie came up with this fantastic video to walk you through them - step by step.

Watch, learn and create.
OH! And here are samples of some of Laurie's previous free templates "put into action" by some of us on the design team. These templates make page design super easy, and fun. (note: the template below is NOT on the content collection cd - it's a freebie on the project center, and if you'd like to download this one and play around with it, check it out here: http://projectcenter.creativememories.com/digital/2009/05/laurietemplate.html)
Hopefully this helps clear up any confusion you may have had on the templates and how they work. We look forward to seeing your creations! :)
Hiya Peggy!
The .page files that are saved within the folder are the ones you can use & share... those are your templates, so just create your pages using the shapes & photo drop spots, and those .page files are the ones you'll give to others to use.
Hope that helps!

Back in the fall I made some templates of my own, and saved them in a project file on my computer with the .page extension. I followed some directions that were posted in late October or early November on the project site. I am now trying to save some additional templates I have created so I can share them with my sister, but I am not able to get the page to save as a .page file -- I can only get it to save as a folder with the .page and several other items in the folder. They when I try to "import" the .page file I have created, it won't work. Please tell me what I am supposed to do - I know I was able to do this before, but either cannot remember or SB 3.0+ has been "updated" to remove this ability. Thanks.

I absolutely love this CD. I use it all the time now. Have completed pages and pages with it!! I hope you will do another content CD with different templates in the near future.

Can these click and fill pages be used with our free software or is it only to be used with the purchased software?

Thank you so much, I was trying to explain this to a customer over the weekend and your blog summerized it perfectly. This is a great addition to our line of digital products. You guys really are the greatest.

I looove templates. Somehow I can pull the page together better when there aren't already papers in there to disract me (like on a predesigned page). I have started making some blank templates, too, and they are on my blog www.jess-scraps.blogspot.com
