Thank you for joining us for our first traditional Virtual Crop!
As we get started, here are a few reminders:
- Post your questions pertaining to each challenge on the blog where it is posted (that's this page!) instead of on the Facebook Event Page, so our answers stay with the challenge.
- Once you've completed a challenge, snap a photo of it and post it to the Facebook Event Page to be entered for door prizes throughout the weekend. To be eligible for prizes, we ask that your project includes a minimum of 75% Creative Memories products.
Our first challenge is a SKETCH challenge! We are supplying you with the sketch below for this challenge. Click on it to print out the full-size image.
Grab your photos and the paper and embellishments of your choice, and use this sketch to create your first layout! No need to cut your papers to any specific size, just use the sizes and shapes as a jumping off point! :)
Here is a layout about my son going to prom last spring. I needed to get this layout done for his album before he graduates this spring! Using a sketch took the guess work out of it for me, and came together in no time at all.
My favorite part about a sketch is that it has ENDLESS possibilities! Just turn it to the right 90 degrees, and you have a whole new sketch!
My teammate Jill created this layout, by using the same exact sketch. Isn't it fun how much a twist can give it a whole new look? So, keep turning and you are sure to be inspired for many layouts to come!
We are excited to see how you will create with this sketch! Get started now and post your completed project on the Facebook event page.
Questions? Leave them here on this page and this is where we'll answer them!
Have fun!!!
Melissa and Kristen

Beth - Yes! You can use any Creative Memories product.

It can be OLD CM products, right??? LOL I have tons of old and some new as well, but not enough new to do all of the challenges.

Jennifer - The goal is for you to complete pages this weekend using some of the techniques we are sharing in the challenges. There's no reason you can't participate without posting images. This is for you!
Door prizes are little secondary perks to keep it fun on the page. Think about the value this is bringing to you - completed projects - instead!!
Also, you may notice some people are simply covering the faces of people in their photos. That's an option.

I don't feel comfortable posting pages with pictures of my family on the internet. I am just very private that way. Too bad I can't participate.

Krystal - The main goal is for you to complete projects!! Just load your completed pages as you have them done. We will randomly select a winner from ALL of the projects posted throughout the weekend.

I'm really dumb I guess. How do I get a photo of my completed page onto the Facebook events page?

If we can't do the challenges right away, but want to try to do some of them this evening (can't scrapbook at work), will they still count for the drawing? And if I can't get all 25 done, am I still eligible?

Ami - Melissa used all Enchanted papers in the first and the second is Fabulous girl. The white trim is the Scallop Border Maker. You can use whatever papers you have!
Posted by: Creative Memories | 03/23/2012 at 01:24 PM
What paper and embellishments are used in the above examples? I have a lot of CM but not the brand new papers. What is the white trim?
Posted by: Ami | 03/23/2012 at 01:04 PM
Kim - No, you do not have to have three photos. Just use the sketch as inspiration for your layout and have fun turning it around. Try to pull in enough of the characteristics that we can tell you created this for the challenge. ~Kristen

By the way....I have gone almost all digital now, BUT, that new border maker system got me back in the traditional game! LOVE that product!!! It makes doing pages go so fast and easy and look great. I had 250 of my sons hiking photos...opened my album from the plastic, added refill pages, 2 sets, and choose the earthy power palette, choose the chain and fence border makers cartridges for the new border maker system and in just 3 1/2 hours had the entire album completed. They boys are going to finish the journaling and I did add titles and clear title stickers where appropriate. LOVED doing a traditional album again.

Can challenges be completed digitally or do they have to be done traditionally?
Posted by: Jennifer Logan | 03/23/2012 at 12:39 PM
Great Job going on here today! How fun! I'm IN.
Posted by: Veronica Studt | 03/23/2012 at 12:38 PM
If we do this page digitally with StoryBook Creator - does that count if we post it to be entered for prizes? And are Consultants eligible for prizes?
Posted by: Shawna | 03/23/2012 at 12:35 PM
does the sketch layout have ti include 3 photos?
Posted by: kim | 03/23/2012 at 12:34 PM
Jo Ann - You can just view it on screen for inspiration if you aren't able to print.
Jaine - The next challenge will be posted in two hours.
Post your project photos whenever they are complete this weekend. We'll be randomly drawing for door prizes from the posted layouts all weekend long.
