Rise and shine! If you're just joining us, we're so glad you're here. If you spent the day with us yesterday, we hope you were inspired and have several completed projects to show for it! It's time to get started with Day 2 of our Virtual Crop.
Coffee, anyone? We came prepared with caffeine - for real and in the form of a color combination!
Whenever I find myself in a slump, I turn to color combinations to help guide my choices of paper. Once I choose a combo, I pull papers from the chosen color families. They don't have to be exact, but can follow from the same tones, etc.
For the first challenge of the day, we're going to use these Caffeine Tones to create a layout. Pull out your papers in these tones and create a layout with this combination! ....and then add a fun pinwheel to your layout!!!
Our Holidazzle paper has some great tones that use the "cream" color. Fabulous and Reflections have some of the gray colors. Divine has some wonderful Tone on Tones that would coordinate, as well as some of the browns in the Gratitude collection!
As an example, I created a layout for a college visit we took with my son last spring.
Since neither the coffee colors or the photos are very springy, I chose to add a pinwheel element to add a touch of spring.
To create the pinwheels, you will need an exact square (ex. 2" x 2").
Use your All-Purpose Scissors to cut in from each corner.
Fold one point of each "triangle" into the center, adhering with Tape Runner or Precision Point Adhesive.
Once all points are folded in, embellish with an epoxy sticker.
A paper flower, punched circle, etc. also work really well. To vary your pinwheel sizes, just cut different sized squares!
Have fun creating your coffee layouts. Post a photo of your completed project on our Facebook event page to help us reach our goal of 2,500 projects this weekend. To be eligible for door prizes, your project should use at least 75% Creative Memories products!
Questions? Post them here on the challenge page so our answers will stay with the challenge!
Happy Creating!

He'll have a terrific experience at Concordia! Great to see all the things I love highlighted here: scrapbooking, higher education at a great Christian institution, and a mother's love and pride over her son. Thanks for sharing this page.
