Sorry it has been so long since our last post. We blinked and it was the end of November. We are really busy in Product Development working on the end of 2010 products. That's right, we work sometimes over a year out on our products. We have so many fun new things coming out next year, I can't wait for you to see them all.
I was thinking about what our next post should be about and it struck me this morning. With Thanksgiving later this week, I started thinking about how thankful I am for Creative Memories, our Consultants and customers. Honestly it is so easy to get caught up in the usual day to day activities like submitting this paperwork, picking colors for this project and what should this artwork look like that it is easy to forget how special our products are. I love the fact that the products we develop and create go on to touch so many lives. Either by helping someone earn extra income for their family, allowing someone to have an afternoon or evening away just to work on their stories and memories or by touching someone in more ways than we could ever imagine through the gift of an album. It is a blessing and honor to work for a company that touches so many lives in so many differerent wasy.
I've been asked many times if I scrapbook. You better believe it I do! I've created close to 50 albums either for our family or as gifts (my favorite). I love looking back at my albums and the pictures and stories and so does my husband and 3 year old son. As I mentioned I love giving albums as gifts and I could share a number of stories about the gift albums I’ve given but I will just share my most recent gift. In September my brother turned 40 and I wanted to give him something special as we always have been and still are very close. A few weeks before his birthday I decided it would be really cool to make him an album listing 40 reasons why we love him. It was a very simple album, some pages didn't have pictures, some did, but I listed the reasons like great friend, supportive husband, super father, the best older brother ever and so on and shared stories of why I thought that. I gave it to him on the night of his birthday and was so glad I did. We too often forget to tell the people closest to us what they mean to us and an album is the perfect way to do that.
With the holidays just around the corner I'd love to hear your reasons of why you are thankful for Creative Memories or share one of your favorite album gifts that you have given. And with Christmas only a month away, I encourage you to give the gift of memories and stories to someone on your list.
Happy Holidays!
sorry, didn't mean to post twice as it looked like my post had disappeared.

Thanks Debby for your comments. As you know Hot Pink just launched and in addition we are adding a new Plumberry color in March to coordinate with a new Power Palette. It is a beautiful color. Then later this year we will be adding a few more colors. I can't give away all the surprises but I can assure you the colors are beautiful and are among some of the top requested!

Bobbi hits it on the head and her reasoning about album colors is the reason I am working only in pages right now, waiting for those promised new colors in 2010... Purple, great, gender neutral color lots of uses, and fun to look at... those off colors such as the series with the medalions a few years back.. Hot pink doesn't work for me right now, but I will need to find a use for it so I can purchase one and support my consultant. WE CANT WAIT TO SEE THE NEW ALBUM COLORS even if you let us know what they are and when they are coming ( how about a calendar so we can plan our major purchases???) it would spark sales for consultants. My consultant is dying cause no one wants any of the offered album colors!

I am glad they decided to keep the hot pink album! I would love to see the hot pink album in a Picfolio, as well. I have really come to love the Picfolio series of albums. I always thought that I would never stray from the traditional albums, but I find that I have used almost every album and the digital, as well, for a variety of projects -- gifts, etc. I love them all!

Thanks for everyone's stories and comments.
Karen- good news! Hot Pink will be back permanentally starting Jan 1! We are very excited for the re-launch of this popular album. Thanks for your suggestions, lavender is gone forever but we do have more fun colors coming in 2010 so stay tuned.

I would like to reinforce the comments made by several consultants back in September regarding the color selection for albums. I am a relatively new consultant and the Hot Pink album was my first experience with something I wanted that was discontinued before I bought enough - before I went on vacation it was no problem but when I came back it was gone. I am really hoping CM brings it back!
As to the current colors, I know there are probably ordering committments CM has to make to manufacturers and it must be very difficult to anticipate what will flop and what will take off... but right now many of the offerings are just plain boring or dowdy. If I ask my husband his opinion on where to store our memories, he shudders and will only agree to the black, graphite (Lim Time - now not avail) or chocolate. He'd rather keep pix on the pc or in a box than put them in pine or cobolt (his opinion - please dont take offense - but personally I agree on this one).
My neice is in college and wanted to do an album for her boyfriend. She spent over $100 (money a student doesn't have), bought multiple albums from other places - none of which were any where near CM quality! She had so much trouble with them that she ended up abandoning them and was in tears till I convinced her to use the Black Max album so that she wouldn't have to throw away all she had done thus far. she just hated the colors - they were "old fashioned" and not for someone her age.
My opinion (take it for what its worth) We need the Hot Pink back, maybe a Bright Orange Sherbet, Lime Green, bright and fun for the kids/teens. And some grown up but more up to date colors for the 25 - 45 set... Also...the lavender is gone...will that be gone forever? It was a good solution for grandma, bridal shower, lots of weddings ...it was a nice color.

Nice post Bobbi. You are so right, we often don't tell the people closest to us that they mean so much to us. I'm sure your brother loved his gift!

Your simple idea reminds us how being uncomplicated is often the best. Thanks for your work at CM, I love being a consultant and selling the things you create for us.

This last weekend I worked with my grown daughter (21) to make a special album. We found out recently that my ex had another daughter, age 10, and a meeting was set to reunite my daughter and son with this younger sister. I helped my daughter create an album of family to give to her little sister. She did not even know what her father looked like. Now she has a link to him and her other grandparents. Thanks CM for the products and the bond you help forge.
