Every year I swear I'm not dressing up for the Creative Memories Halloween costume party, yet every year I do. Once again, this Halloween I found myself scrambling to throw something together at the last minute.
It's not the trick-or-treat thing that interests me about Halloween. I simply enjoy dressing up for a good costume party. Not only does it give me a break from myself (it's not easy being me), it gives me permission to lose myself in the guise of another character. I went to this year's party as a senior (citizen) writer for Creative Memories, old and fashionably gray, and not too far from reality.
But enough about my costume. You should have seen the creative costumes my co-workers wore to the party! Some let their hair down, some put it up, and Janet had no hair at all! Carmen came as a grand mummy, Becky as the angel she is, and Eve came as white noise. (For Eve, that pretty much just meant dressing in white.) Pam came dressed and determined to win a prize, which she did! And the Halloween party was complete with some witches and things that go bump in the night. Heck, I'll just give you a peek at some of the characters who came to the party.
