You never know what you’ll see at Creative Memories. I was passing through our exercise room at Creative Memories and discovered Senior Scientist Tom Cleveland hard at work. He’s wasn’t on the treadmill but he was lifting weights. Lifting them and putting them into our new customer bags.
Tom explained that in the process of reconfiguring our customer bags (I think that’s scientist talk for improving our bags), Creative Memories conducts several laboratory bench-top tests for tear strength and puncture resistance.
Tom shared that CM takes it a step further and conducts “real world” testing. That’s where the dumb bells come in. Dumb bells of varying weights are placed in the bags and then subjected to "uneven handling forces" (he shakes them up and down in the bag).
These tests stress multiple areas of the bag including the handles, bottom and seams. The dumb bells help simulate the uneven stress a bag might encourage when product is placed in a bag, carrying a full bag up some stairs and other everyday scenarios.
Tom also shared that CM tests the bag using actual CM products – since we aren’t coming out with a line of dumb bells any time soon.
The good news is that the bags Tom was testing met the target requirements and also passed other key tests. The bags have the new logo on them and are available now. Personally I appreciate the time and expertise our Quality Assurance and Technology Departments put into testing all of our products.
So let your customers know that just like all of the products at CM, their customer bag has been tested by our Technical and Quality Assurance Departments. And that along with carrying our great products safely, our customer bags are also capable of carrying dumb bells (up to 5 pounds).
I love our bags! I use them for toting other things besides product when I recycle them! Thanks CM for making them so durable. And, I'd love to see our size variety back, please! :-)
